Who we are
Fruitfly ("we", "our") is a community fruit-sharing app at fruitflyapp.com. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign in, we collect your email address. If you choose Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the basic profile information those providers share (such as your name and email, per your provider settings).
Location information. To show fruit near you, the app uses your device's approximate location. Your exact location is never shown to other users — neighbors see only an approximate map dot, and a guided pin to the pickup spot is shared only after a listing owner approves your request.
Listings and activity. Fruit you list (type, quantity, pickup window, notes), pick requests you send or receive, approvals, and ratings you give or receive.
Device and settings. App preferences such as notification settings, reminder times, appearance (light/dark), and distance units.
How we use information
To operate the app: show nearby listings, manage pick requests and approvals, and display two-way ratings. To communicate: sign-in codes, pickup reminders you enable, and important service updates. To keep the community safe: enforce our Terms of Service, including reviewing reported content and blocking abusive accounts.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show your exact location publicly, ever. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
Sharing
We share information only as needed to run the service: with infrastructure providers that host our systems (bound by confidentiality), and when required by law.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account and associated data at any time yourself, right in the app: Settings → Delete account. You can also request deletion by contacting privacy@fruitflyapp.com.
Children
Fruitfly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. In-person pickups require users to be 18 or older (see Terms of Service).
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
